A  major project for the course is to create a portfolio to show your best work, résumé, career information, your autobiography, and more. Your portfolio website will under continuous development throughout the semester. You will keep adding to it, refining it, and improving it.

The Portfolio project incorporates the following standards:

1.6 Information Technologies (C): Students will understand technology used in business. They will demonstrate competency by utilizing technology to access, manipulate, and produce information.
1.6.1 Applications– utilize a variety of software programs to manipulate, analyze and produce data
1.6.2 Computer Operations– demonstrate proper use and care of equipment
1.6.3 Document Processing– create, format and produce documents
1.6.5 Information Resources– use electronic media, manuals, and tutorials as resources to access information
1.8 Design and publish documents by using advanced publishing software and graphic programs.

  1. click BELOW the dotted line
  2. choose the INSERT menu, choose FILE
  3. choose your "about me" file, (this file won't show on the list, so choose "all files")

  3. correct errors

  1. complete the résumé worksheet 1 and worksheet 2
     
  2. Use Microsoft Word to create the résumé.
    Here's how:

  3. When your resume is complete and corrected, save it and exit from Microsoft Word
     
  4. To put your résumé on the web page:

    a. Start FRONTPAGE, OPEN WEB (your portfolio)

    b. OPEN your
    résumé.htm web page

    c  Go to the INSERT MENU--choose FILE, your resume won't show on the list so choose ALL FILES


    d. Find your  resume on the list of files in your student account

  1. Choose a career - take some "career interest surveys": use this  worksheet for your answers. Website links to use for the career surveys.
     
  2. Answer these questions about your career choice.
     
  3. Create page with information about the career of your choice. Include the topics and information from the worksheet. You can add additional information to the web page as well as one or two appropriate graphics.
