My mission is to help students develop useful and productive computer skills that will help them in any career. (Read the article from monster.com describing how computer skills can help land a job.)

I will be "raising the bar" for all my students this year, by stressing the need for them to produce workplace quality documents. The students should ask themselves two questions before completing the assignments: "Is this my best work?"  "Would I hand it to my boss at work?" (See the checklist for your best work.)

Students: many of you use Microsoft Works on your home computer. When you try to save your school work on your disk to bring to school--IT WON'T WORK AT SCHOOL!! (unless you do this first).

Downloading files from GOL:

There are two types of links used on this website:

  1. A text link like this. Just click on it the normal way.

  2. A text link to download with "right-click, save target as". This is to SAVE the file to your computer.
    Think
first, before you click the link. Use the right mouse button. If you clicked too fast with the LEFT button, you will need to use the BACK arrow, and then try again. After you SAVE the file to your computer, you will quit from Internet Explorer, then find the file you just saved in your student account, and click on it to open it.
