Very few people make the right career choice on the first attempt. Many will make several changes mid-stream before finding the right path. Others will never find it.

You cannot pursue careers you don't know exist. In addition, learning what the day-to-day activities of what a given career entails is also essential. You'll need to research the career you believe you are interested in and  learn as much as you can about it.

 

As mentioned earlier, it is not uncommon for a person to change careers several times during a lifetime. A bad choice is not disastrous, just inconvenient. Keep your eyes open to various opportunities.

 

Now let's take the first step by completing a self-assessment. To get the best results: read the question and all the choices before you answer.

 

 

Go to the Coin3 site, put in user name:LCA15075 and password: yjackets. Click on the Exploration Center , click on Assessments and then choose Self-Assessment Survey.

 

  1. Answer the self assessment questions, when finished: enter your name and then "search occupations"
  2. Print the results showing the 20 suggested occupations
  3. Choose the top career, then "Print Occupation"
  4. Copy the following questions, paste into Microsoft Word, type your name on the heading, and answer the questions using the occupation information you just printed.
  5. Print out your answers to the 10 career questions.

  2. Occupation Information (2 pages)
